Winter

Santa's Christmas Village at the Northeast Louisiana Children's Museum is an annual celebration of the holiday season centered around activities for kids. The event begins in November and lasts until the New Year. It features activities such as ice skating, crafts, visits with Santa, and more! For more info, visit their Facebook page.

First Monroe holds Christmas in the Park each December. The event features a live nativity, a kiddie train, horse rides, ornament making, and more family activities.


Christmas in DoMo is hosted by the Origin Bank RiverMarket the first Saturday of December. Each year, the event highlights dozens of local vendors, food trucks, and activities. Activities include the annual Pet Pageant, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and an ugly sweater contest. For more information, visit the RiverMarket's website.

The Holiday Express Train hosted by Kansas City Southern visits downtown Monroe every other year. The train stops in downtown Monroe and can be boarded to enjoy with Santa and his elves. Activities and entertainment are provided by the City of Monroe for everyone to enjoy while waiting to board the train.

Spring

The Bob Dylan Birthday Jam is an annual collaboration between local musicians to celebrate the life of the legendary songwriter. Always the weekend surrounding May 24th, the event is hosted at Enoch's Irish Pub and features life performances of Bob Dylan's songs by a rotation of local artists.

'Ritas on the River is hosted by the Downtown Monroe Alliance and Origin Bank RiverMarket every April. The event features margarita samplings from local bars and restaurants, live music, shopping, and more! Learn more by visiting the Downtown RiverMarket website.

Off the Wall is the Masur Museum of Art's annual Fall fundraiser. It is the area's premier art auction featuring an excellent selection of affordable art by artists in our community and all over the country. Proceeds from Off the Wall support exhibitions and educational programs at the Masur Museum of Art. Summer

DoMo BrewFest is an annual fundraising event for the Downtown Monroe Alliance. Held every summer, the event features over 150 beers from a variety of homebrewers, distributors, and breweries. For more information, visit the website.

Bulls in the Streets is a fun run/walk event hosted by Flying Tiger Brewery each June benefiting local non-profit organizations Chennault Military Museum & Roe City Rollers. Picture it: You're running for your life from angry, charging bulls through the narrow streets of Spain and you've never felt more alive. Now replace the bulls with girls on skates and swap out Spain for the (wider) streets of Downtown Monroe, LA. and you're beginning to get the picture… but it's just the beginning.

First Monroe's Downtown Block Party is held each August in Anna Gray Noe Park. The event features live music, food trucks, and family fun.

Fall

Hosted by Downtown Monroe Alliance and the Origin Bank RiverMarket, the Bloody Mary Festival is an annual sampling event featuring bloody marys made by the best local bars and restaurants. DoMo Piano Bar is part of the Downtown River Jam concert series. The Piano Bar features two pianists on dueling pianos for an interactive, fun show. Hosted in downtown Monroe each Fall, the show serves as the DRJ's annual fundraiser. Visit Downtown River Jam on Facebook for more info.

ESA Alpha Gamma Chapter hosts Food Fight on the 'Front each October at the Origin Bank Riverwalk. Attendees are invited to enjoy the nice weather while watching local food trucks battle it out for the best in the biz title. Proceeds benefit a different local nonprofit each year.

Geeks Along the River is an Origin Bank RiverMarket event celebrating geek culture. It happens annually in November. The event features activities for the family, cosplay contests, shopping, and more! For more information, visit the Downtown RiverMarket website.

The Annual John Lennon Birthday Bash at Enoch's Irish Pub began nearly four decades ago as a celebration of John Lennon's life and legacy. Each year on a Saturday surrounding the artist's birthday, October 9th, a collective of musicians share the pub's stage and pay tribute to Lennon's work. Party 318 is part of the Masur Museum's series of events for young professionals and museum members. The event is held each Fall and features food trucks, homebrew, free drinks, and entertainment. The event is free to attend. Visit the Masur's Facebook page for more info.

The Monroe Turkey Trot is held every year on Thanksgiving morning at the Origin Bank RiverMarket. This event offers a 2 mile course and a 4 mile course to offer an option for all of the family.

Recurring Events

The Downtown River Jam concert series is hosted by the Downtown Monroe Alliance in an effort to bring live entertainment and foot traffic to downtown Monroe after 5pm. Frequently hosted in historic Henry Bry Park, the event features both local and touring talent, food trucks, drinks, and more. Like us on Facebook!

Do you play an instrument? Sing? Or just enjoy live music? Each Monday at Enoch's Irish Pub, join the Josh Love Band on stage for live band karaoke.

The Downtown Gallery Crawl, is hosted by the Downtown Arts Alliance, a community of artists working together to culturally enhance and revitalize our historic riverfront commercial district. Each Crawl is held in the downtown Monroe and West Monroe galleries on the first Thursday of every even month. For more information, visit the website.

The Brown Bag Concert Series is hosted by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council each October in Anna Gray Noe Park. The public is invited out each Wednesday of the month for a free concert. Bring a lunch or buy from the on-site food truck!
